So we have been hearing about the Moto Z2 Play for a while now, and finally it looks like Motorola has decided to finally make it official. Announcing on its blog, Motorola has taken the wraps off the Moto Z2 Play and with it, a bunch of new Moto Mods that will expand the current lineup of mods available in the market today.

Starting with the Moto Z2 Play, it seems that some of the rumors about the device were right. We’re looking at a phone with a 5.5-inch Full HD Super AMOLED screen, and under the hood a 2.2GHz octa-core processor can be found. Motorola is also boasting how the phone will offer up to 30 hours of battery life, which also supports fast charging where you can get up to 8 hours of battery in 15 minutes of charging.

The phone will also feature a 12MP rear-facing camera, a 5MP front-facing camera, and there will be two different models offered where one will sport 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, and the other will pack 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. Like we said there are also a bunch of new Moto Mods, such as the Moto GamePad which adds gaming controls to your phone.

There will also be the new JBL SoundBoost 2 that helps enhance your phone’s speakers. Then there is the Moto TurboPower which adds battery life to your phone, and last but not least there’s the Moto Style Shell which adds wireless charging capabilities to the phone. The Moto Z2 Play will be finding its way to the US this summer for $499 where it will be an exclusive to Verizon.
