If you liked the first season of Minecraft: Story Mode, you’re going to love what Mojang has announced today. The Minecraft developer has confirmed that it’s going to release Minecraft: Story Mode season 2 in the near future. A new five-part Story Mode saga is going to be released by Mojang next month. It follows the first season which had eight episodes that were spread out over 2015 and 2016.
In Minecraft: Story Mode, players assumed the role of Jesse and set out on a quest with their allies. The character of Jesse was customizable so players could decide whether they wanted it to be male or female.
Patton Oswalt and Catherine Taber provided the voice for the male and female version of Jesse and they’re returning to voice the character for the second season.
The choices that players made in the first season of the game would have affected the outcome. That outcome is going to have an impact on the second season as well, though it’s going to be welcoming to new Minecraft: Story Mode players as well.
Jesse’s hand will get trapped in a cursed prismarine gauntlet in season two after a simple treasure hunt goes wrong. Jesse then sets out on a quest to the darkest depths of the world and beyond with his allies. Players will have plenty of tough choices to make as they navigate their way through the game.
The first episode of Minecraft: Story Mode season 2 titled Hero in Residence is going to be released for PS4, Xbox One, PC, Mac, iOS, and Android devices on July 11th.
