This has also since led to rumors of cancellation of upcoming DLCs, which EA has since confirmed is not true. For those hearing about this for the first time, the rumors began when a studio from Austria called Sinclair Networks posted onto Facebook (which has since been deleted, but not before it was captured by Critical Hit) claiming that their contract with BioWare to produce three DLCs for Andromeda had been cancelled.
The message reads, “Due to issues in initial production, heavy critique, significant delays in other projects, staff allocation and reductions in Montreal, it was decided to shelve the franchise for the time being and all our resources and outsourcing are being focused to the 2018 release of Anthem. For the moment the Mass Effect series will be on ice until BioWare can decide which direction the franchise will go.”
However like we said, EA has since rubbished those rumors and in a statement they have since released, “We’ve never worked with Sinclair Networks and they had nothing to do with the development of Mass Effect: Andromeda. Beyond that we don’t have any news to share at this time regarding DLC.” It doesn’t exactly sound positive, but we guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
