However it seems that LG, after two generations of the V-series, could be abandoning the secondary display. This is according to a report from XDA who has heard from a “trusted source” regarding LG’s plan. We suppose this makes sense because while the secondary display was unique, it wasn’t exactly a raved about feature, and so LG might have decided to focus on other things.
One of those new things that could be brought to the LG V30 could be an OLED display which is in line with earlier reports that LG Display would begin mass producing the panels, not to mention it will help LG better compete with the likes of Samsung and other smartphone makers who have already introduced OLED displays to their phones.
In any case take it with a grain of salt for now, but we should have more details in the coming months. Last we heard, the LG V30 was set for an unveiling at IFA 2017 which will be taking place at the start of September.
