We can expect to see a lot of rumors and reports about the Galaxy Note 8 in the months to come as Samsung’s next flagship smartphone is one of the most highly anticipated devices of 2017. That’s partly because it’s the successor to the Galaxy Note 7, Samsung’s ill-fated flagship phablet that requires no introduction. The upcoming Galaxy Note handset has now been spotted on the HTML5Test’s database, the test mule was running Android 7.1.1 Nougat.
It’s common for devices that are in the pipeline to show up on online databases. It’s only a matter of time before we see benchmark listings for the Galaxy Note 8 as well. They offer us a glimpse of what to expect from these devices.
HTML5Test is a respected online benchmark for gauging web browser performance. The Galaxy Note 8 test unit appears to have scored 488 out of a total of 555 points in this benchmark, which is respectable when compared with existing devices.
The Galaxy Note 8 is certainly going to have flagship-level specifications. Rumors suggest that it will have a 6.3 inch Infinity Display, a Snapdragon 836 processor with 4GB RAM, dual cameras and speakers as well as a fingerprint sensor at the back.
Samsung started developing firmware for the Galaxy Note 8 in April this year. There are reports that Samsung might unveil the Galaxy Note 8 in August this year even though it usually unveils new Galaxy Note handsets at IFA in Berlin which takes place every September.
