Microsoft announced during its E3 2017 press conference yesterday that when the Xbox One X is released this November, it will be followed by free updates for several existing titles that enables them to leverage the new console’s 4K gaming prowess.
The games that will receive free 4K updates later this year include major titles like Forza Horizon 3, Minecraft, Killer Instinct, Gears of War 4, and Halo Wars 2.
Microsoft has also confirmed that similar updates will also be released for more than 30 third-party games, including the likes of Final Fantasy 15 and Resident Evil 7.
The company also pointed out that this is by no means a comprehensive list right now and that more games will receive a similar free update after the Xbox One X is eventually released.
Microsoft is going to release the Xbox One X on November 7th and it’s going to sell it for $499. The company says that the new console provides a four-fold increase in graphics performance over the original Xbox One as well as a 31 percent increase in CPU speed and 50 percent increase in onboard RAM.
