Apple Siri Speaker Release Not Expected Next Week

We’ve been hearing consistently hearing rumors over the past couple of weeks that Apple is working on a Siri-powered smart speaker which will be able to compete with the likes of Amazon Echo. The company is yet to say anything about such a device but rumor has it that it could be released next week. However, if a new report is to be believed, Apple’s Siri speaker may not be released in June.

Apple is expected to unveil the product at the Worldwide Developers Conference 2017 next week. Many expected that the device would be available for pre-order the same day and would be released a week later.

That may not be the case, though. Bloomberg reports that while Apple’s Siri speaker has advanced to the manufacturing stage, the company is not going to release it until later this year.

Apple is reportedly placing emphasis on sound quality which is in line with previous reports that the speaker is going to be a premium audio product. It’s said to include “virtual surround sound technology” and advanced acoustics compared to rivals from Amazon and Google.

The report claims that Apple has even though about adding sensors to the device which measure a room’s acoustics and then automatically adjust audio levels during use.

The scribe doesn’t rule out a WWDC unveiling for the product so we’ll know for sure come Monday if Apple is going to unveil the Siri speaker or not at the event.
