Refurbished Galaxy Note 7 Release Expected This Month

Samsung confirmed a couple of months ago that it’s going to release a refurbished version of the Galaxy Note 7 in the near future. The company said that it will be released in a handful of markets but hasn’t specified those markets yet. It also hasn’t provided a confirmed release date. According to a new report, the refurbished Galaxy Note 7 is going to be released later this month.

The report out of Korea suggests that Samsung is going to release the refurbished Galaxy Note 7 as early as this month. Samsung is reportedly going to apply soon for safety certification of the refurbished handset.

The application for safety certification will be made to Korea’s National Radio Research Agency. It has already received similar approval from the U.S. Federal Communications Commission. The approval process normally takes up to one month so it may hit the market either by the end of this month or by June.

The refurbished Galaxy Note 7 is said to have a slightly smaller battery than the ill-fated flagship. It may have a 3,200mAh battery this time around and may also come with Android 7.0 installed straight out of the box.

No word as yet how much Samsung is going to charge for this refurbished handset. Reports suggest that when it’s released in South Korea by the end of this month, it may be priced 50 percent less than what Samsung priced the Galaxy Note 7 at.
