Microsoft conducted a hardware-focused event in Shanghai today where it unveiled the much-rumored new Surface Pro computer. The company also had an Xbox-related announcement to make at the event. It’s already selling the Xbox One in China, and the company has confirmed today that the Project Scorpio Xbox is also going to be released in China. The most powerful console that Microsoft has ever made will be released in China by the end of this year.
Microsoft is due to release the Project Scorpio Xbox globally by the fall so it’s likely going to be released around the same time in China. Microsoft has only confirmed that it’s going to be released in the People’s Republic, it hasn’t provided a confirmed release date just yet.
Microsoft is clearly wasting no time in bringing its most powerful console to one of the most lucrative gaming markets on the planet, particularly after the launch of the original Xbox One was delayed quite a bit in China.
The company hasn’t revealed much about the Project Scorpio Xbox itself so fans are still waiting on more details. Microsoft is going to properly unveil the Project Scorpio Xbox at the upcoming E3 2017 gaming convention in Los Angeles.
