Roku today announced that the first 4K high-dynamic range (HDR) Roku TVs with Dolby Vision will be available for pre-order soon in the United States. These TVs were first announced by TCL back at the Consumer Electronics Show 2017 in January this year. Roku promises that these TVs are going to deliver a premium picture quality at a very compelling price point.
TCL P-Series TVs tout 4K UHD picture quality with Dolby Vision HDR support. The HDR Contrast Control feature individually optimizes contrast across 72 zones on the screen which will provide users with an enhanced sense of depth and reality.
All TVs in this new series also feature Wide Color performance with TCl’s NBP Photon technology that produces a rich color palette so advanced that it covers almost the entire DCI-P3 color standard.
The P-series TVs are going to be offered in 50, 55, and 65 inch sizes. The 55 inch model will be available first at an introductory price of $599. Pre-orders for this model can be placed on Amazon.com starting May 26th.
All models run the latest version of Roku OS, hence the name Roku TV, and thus provide access to its extensive line-up of streaming channels. Users can access more than 5,000 channels and over 450,000 movies and TV episodes.
