Not Hotdog App From Silicon Valley Is Real

Silicon Valley is a show from HBO that provides a fun look at what happens behind the scenes in the tech capital of the world. The show has been praised for its humorous depictions or reality. In a recent episode, an app that detects whether or not the object it’s looking at is a hotdog provided a lot of laughs. Fans of the show will be excited to find out that the Not Hotdog app from Silicon Valley is real and now available for download.

T.J. Miller’s character in the show, Erlich Bachman, accidentally invested in an app which he thought was linked to Oculus when it was really an app that had recipes for preparing octopus.

When the truth was revealed, the app was quickly pivoted to become the “Shazam of food.” So what it ended up doing was finding out whether or not the object it was looking at was a hotdog and then informing the user about it.

The real Not Hotdog app is now available as a free download for iOS from the App Store. It’s actually quite good at identifying objects that are not hotdogs, so it’s a fun little app to have on your phone.
