When Microsoft announced their Surface series of Windows tablets, it was met with quite a bit of success as it has been a while since Microsoft made their own hardware, and many were suitably impressed with what Microsoft had announced. Now if you’re looking forward to the next iteration, you’re in luck.
In a post on VentureBeat by Evan Blass, it seems that renders of the upcoming Surface Pro refresh has been leaked ahead of its official reveal. Microsoft is expected to be hosting an event on the 23rd of May in Shanghai, China where they will supposedly reveal the next-gen Surface tablet, which we guess has since been revealed in this leak.
From what we can tell, Microsoft has largely kept to the same design as its predecessor, so if you’re hoping for a design overhaul or if there are design aspects of the previous Surface that you did not enjoy, we guess they will continue to be there. However if you liked the previous design then this is probably good news.
We expect that the official specs, pricing, and availability will be revealed, but right now it has been suggested that this is merely a “tock” upgrade, meaning that for the most part the changes will be made under the hood, but either check back with us next week for the details.
