LG launched its new “V” series of flagship smartphones a couple of years back. They’re a big unique in that the handsets have a secondary ticker display on top of the main display. If reports to be believed, LG is going to kick things up a notch for the third addition to the series. A leaked original concept for the LG V30 suggests that the handset may have a slide-out secondary display.

This LG V30 original concept, made by the company itself, has been leaked by Evan Blass a.k.a @evleaks who has a good reputation with these things. However, he did point out that these are early mockups and it’s unclear right now if LG went in this direction.

The render shows that there would be a secondary display underneath the primary one which may double as a keyboard or provide quick access to most frequently used features. The secondary display would slide-out as and when required.

The extra screen real estate that a secondary display would provide will also allow users to maximize the use of the primary display’s screen real estate, since options, keyboards, and other controls won’t clutter up the main display.

That being said, it’s not known for sure right now if LG has taken the V30 into this direction. The company is expected to come out with the LG V30 in September this year. We’re likely going to hear more about the device before then.
