Over 55 Million Samsung Galaxy S7, S7 Edge Handsets Sold

While the star of the smartphone right now is probably the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+, let’s not forget its predecessor which seems to have done pretty well for itself. In fact according to the latest numbers from Strategy Analytics, it turns out that both the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge have reportedly managed to sell over 55 million units to date.

This is pretty impressive although to be fair, the handset did have some “help” when the Note 7 explosions happened last year which saw Samsung fans pretty much only have one choice as far as flagships were concerned, although this isn’t to detract from the fact that both the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge are excellent devices.

That being said while the both handsets have performed admirably, it is expected that the Galaxy S8 and S8+ will eclipse the sales of its predecessors. Both phones have received pretty rave reviews ever since it has launched and according to the initial figures, pre-orders of the Galaxy S8 had outpaced that of the Galaxy S7 by as much as 30%.

The official figures of how many units have been sold have yet to be released, we expect that it should be pretty impressive. In the meantime are you impressed enough by the Galaxy S8 and S8+ to make the upgrade? Or are you still considering maybe getting the (now) cheaper Galaxy S7/S7 Edge?
