ASUS ZenFone AR Will Be Coming To The US This July

While Lenovo might have been the first one on the scene to launch a Project Tango-enabled smartphone, it looks like its competitor ASUS wasn’t too far behind as the company announced earlier this year the ZenFone AR. However the question is when will it be available?

The good news is that we now have a more specific time frame to look forward to, thanks to a report from Engadget who spoke to ASUS CEO Jerry Shen. According to Shen, the ASUS ZenFone AR will be launching in Taiwan mid-June and it is expected to find its way to the US either towards the end of June or maybe early July.

This is in line with what we had previously heard which was that the phone was pegged for a release in the summer. Verizon will also be the only carrier (for now) that will be offering the phone upon its release. Unfortunately pricing still remains something of a mystery, but when asked if it could cost more than a Samsung Galaxy S8+, Shen replied that it wouldn’t.

We suppose this leaves the price open for interpretation, but basically it won’t cost more than that, but either way with a late June/early July launch date, we guess we won’t have to wait much longer for the rest of the details.
