The report claims that Cook has been spotted on the Apple campus where he is testing out a glucose monitoring device that tracks blood sugar levels that is also connected to his Apple Watch. Based on this, it sounds like the team has yet to figure out a way to get it inside the Apple Watch as it seems like at the moment it still exists as a separate device.
CNBC also points at more evidence that such a device could be in the works at Apple, because when Cook spoke to a roomful of students at the University of Glasgow in February, he was reportedly quoted as saying, “I’ve been wearing a continuous glucose monitor for a few weeks. I just took it off before coming on this trip.”
We have heard rumors that the glucose sensor could find its way into the next-gen Apple Watch which should be officially announced in the second half of 2017, but until we hear it from Apple or see it ourselves, take it with a grain of salt.
