Fans of the anti-hero Deadpool have been looking forward to the new movie. A release date for the movie was confirmed recently but there’s some more news regarding the character. Deadpool his getting his own animated TV show. According to a report, the as-yet-untitled animated TV show has been given a straight-to-series order by FXX.
Variety has learned that FXX is working on an animated TV show for Marvel’s Deadpool. The show is going to be created by Donald Glover and Stephen Glover. The 10-episode first season is reportedly going to be released in 2018.
The Glover brothers will be the showrunners, executive producers as well as the writers of the series. Marvel’s Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory will be the executive producers.
“How much more fun could this be? Deadpool, Donald and FX – the perfect fit for the Merc with the Mouth,” Loeb said, adding that Marvel is excited that the partnership that started with FX with Legion will now continue with the new animated Deadpool TV show.
There’s no word as yet if Ryan Reynolds, the star of the hit Deadpool movie, is going to be associated with the animated series in any way. No voice actors have been announced for the show so it’s unclear who is going to mouth everyone’s favorite anti-hero.
