According to the latest Android distribution numbers for the month of May, it has been revealed that Nougat is sitting at a distribution of 7.1%. This represents a 2.2% increase from the previous month which might seem small, is a pretty decent step forwards for the latest version of Android. This covers both versions 7.0 and 7.1.
Interestingly enough as far as the older builds of Android are concerned, it looks like Android 6.0 Marshmallow is still holding steady at 31.2%, and Android 5.x Lollipop is also still maintaining its share of 32%, making it the most used version of Android at the moment. Android KitKat has seen a slight dip by 1.2%, and oddly enough Gingerbread has increased from 0.9% to 1% and we’re not sure why that is.
In any case it will be interesting to see what Android Nougat’s distribution figures will be once Android O is released. Android O is currently in developer preview and should be released later this year.
