There are a handful of content streaming apps that already provide 4K streaming on the Xbox One S and now owners of this console can also stream 4K content from Amazon Video. It has been confirmed that the Amazon Video app for Xbox One S now supports 4K streaming. It has gained the ability to stream content in 4K Ultra High Definition resolution on the Xbox One.
Xbox One S owners should bear in mind that even though 4K streaming is now possible using the Amazon Video app, it’s not like all content that’s available for streaming on the service is available in 4K resolution.
Amazon’s own original shows are all available for streaming in 4K UHD. The list includes popular shows like Bosch, The Grand Tour, The Man in the High Castle, and more. All of them can be streamed in 4K UHD on the Xbox One.
Other content is also available in 4K, though, and can be found in Amazon Video’s library. It’s the first time that 4K streaming has been officially launched for the Xbox One S app. The feature became available for a short time after an app update that was released in December but it wasn’t a wide rollout of the 4K streaming feature.
All Xbox One S owners have to do now, if they want to take advantage of this feature, is updated the Amazon Video app on their console to enjoy content in 4K.
