It’s a rare sight when the internet comes together to work towards a common goal but when it does happen, it feels right. The internet has now joined forces to get a young man a year’s worth of free nuggets from Wendy’s. The fast food chain told him that he could get free nuggets for a year if his tweet reached 18 million retweets. He wasn’t fazed by this number and now he has help from the likes of Microsoft.
Carter Wilkerson reached out to Wendy’s over Twitter and asked how many retweets would he need to get free nuggets for a year. Wendy’s replied that he needed to get 18 million. Now that’s a number that you and I can’t even reach in our dreams, but that didn’t faze Wilkerson, who simply responded to Wendy’s that the chain should “consider it done.”
Some big companies have joined in the fun as well and thrown their weight behind Wilkerson. Microsoft’s official Twitter handle retweeted him and even tagged Amazon and Google with the hashtag #NuggsForCarter. Wilkerson’s tweet now has more than 1.8 million retweets and counting.
However, if he doesn’t reach 18 million, all hope is not lost. T-Mobile CEO John Legere noticed in Wilkerson’s screenshot that he’s on AT&T and offered him to switch to T-Mobile while promising him a year’s worth of free Wendy’s nuggets and more.
Hey @carterjwm, sorry you have @ATT. Switch to @TMobile & I'll give you a year of free @Wendys chicken nuggets myself + more! Seriously. https://t.co/RmVygHPPob
