The MateBook is a slim and lightweight Windows 10-powered tablet that Huawei launched back at the Mobile World Congress last year. It didn’t follow up with a successor at the MWC 2017 in Barcelona a couple of months back but that doesn’t mean Huawei has given up on this product. A new leak reveals that Huawei has three MateBook models in the pipeline and that they may be powered by Intel’s latest Kaby Lake processors.
Twitter leakster @evleaks has tweeted images of all three models which will apparently be called the Huawei MateBook D, MateBook E, and MateBook X.
@evleaks has built up a strong reputation for himself when it comes to leaking unreleased devices so there might be some truth to this rumor after all.
Going by the images, it appears that the MateBook E looks the most similar to its predecessor as far as the design is concerned. The other two models appear to look more like conventional notebooks and may offer similar performance.
Another report suggests that the MateBook X is going to have a 15 inch display with a 7th generation Intel Core i5-7200U Kaby Lake processor and 8GB of RAM. All three will run on Windows 10 and may even come with the Creators Update out of the box given that it’s unclear when they will be out.
Huawei hasn’t said anything about new MateBooks at this point in time so take this with a grain of salt even though all of this looks quite plausible.
Pascal + Bell + Watt = Matebooks E, X, & D (/not/ respectively).
