Now according to reports, it seems that another thief has been foiled again thanks to the use of the feature. In a report from the LA Times, it seems that a thief was going about stealing phones during the Coachella music festival. When festival-goers started noticing their phones had vanished, they quickly activated the “Find my iPhone” feature where they eventually tracked down the thief and followed him around the venue until he could be detained by the security workers at the festival.
When the police eventually arrived, it was discovered that the thief had more than 100 phones in his possession, all of which were picked pocketed throughout the day as he was walking through the festival. The thief was later arrested on suspicion of grand theft and possession of stolen property. The phones were returned to their respective owners, while those that weren’t claimed were sent to lost and found, according to the police.
