Tesla’s Destination Charging Network Expanded To 5,000 Locations

Tesla has already spread its Supercharger network far and wide to enable owners to travel long distances without much range anxiety. However, its Destination Charging network also plays an important part in its infrastructure. Tesla continues to improve both networks. The company has actually expanded its Destination Charging network to more than 5,000 locations.

Tesla’s Destination Charging network has grown more than 25 percent globally over the past three months. It’s now live in more than 5,000 locations across the globe.

The company’s Destination Charging network uses level 2 chargers which are installed at hotels and restaurants. This allows Tesla owners to charge their cars once they arrive at their destination, hence the name Destination Chargers.

The Destination Charger program is opened to businesses like resorts, shopping malls, hotels, and restaurants. This enables Tesla to expand its charging network without having to spend too much money while business owners have the obvious incentive of bringing in more Tesla owners who will no doubt be lured in by the promise of charging stations for their all-electric cars.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has already said that Tesla is planning to double the number of its Supercharger stations to 7,000 units and quadruple Destination Chargers to more than 15,000 units by the end of this year.
