It was rumored for a while now that the Galaxy J7 (2017) was eventually going to make its way to carriers based in the United States and that happened last month when Verizon launched it as the Galaxy J7 V. The handset is coming to Sprint as well but with a different name. The country’s fourth largest mobile network has launched it as the Galaxy J7 Perx.
This is a mid-range handset with specifications that are nothing to write home about. The Galaxy J7 Perx features a 5.5 inch 720p resolution display with an octacore Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor under the hood that’s coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage. It also features an 8 megapixel rear and 5 megapixel front camera.
Aside from support for Sprint’s LTE Plus network, it supports Bluetooth 4.2 and FM Radio. NFC is missing so don’t expect to use any mobile payment services like Samsung or Android Pay. The Galaxy J7 Perx has a 3,300mAh battery and comes with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.
Sprint customers can purchase this handset from the carrier starting today for $265 outright. They can also get it on a payment plan by opting to pay $11 per month for 24 months without any upfront charges.
