There has been a lot of Star Wars-related news over the weekend. Following the Star Wars Celebration, director of the upcoming Star Wars: The Last Jedi movie Rian Johnson made an appearance on Good Morning America where he was asked for more information about the upcoming movie. He was particularly asked about Rey’s parents to which Johnson said that it’s something which will be addressed in The Last Jedi.
The character Rey made her first appearance in last year’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens. It’s the first movie in this rebooted trilogy which established the identity of Kylo Ren’s parents but left us all wondering who Rey’s parents were. Even she appears to be unaware about that.
During his appearance on Good Morning America, Johnson responded to a question about Rey’s parentage and mentioned that “It’s something that is absolutely going to be addressed.” He didn’t reveal more information about how the movie is going to reveal this crucial bit of information that might be instrumental to the entire story.
Johnson pointed out that the upcoming movie is going to have a lot of surprises for fans and that the idea is to keep all of it a secret so that viewers can find it all out for themselves when the movie hits theaters later this year in the fall.
An official trailer was released for Star Wars: The Last Jedi over the weekend. The movie itself is going to be released on December 15th, 2017.
