Refurbished Galaxy Note 7 Release Might Take Place In June

It has been a few weeks since Samsung confirmed that it would bring back the Galaxy Note 7 as a refurbished device in a handful of markets across the globe. Samsung is sitting on millions of recalled Galaxy Note 7 units that it retrieved from customers after it was decided to discontinue the ill-fated flagship late last year. A new report suggests that the refurbished Galaxy Note 7 release is likely going to take place this June.

Launching a refurbished variant of the Galaxy Note 7 is part of Samsung’s three-step plan to deal with the environmental fallout of such a big product recall. The other steps involve working with specialists to retrieve heavy metals and properly recycle the device.

A new report claims that Samsung is going to release the refurbished Galaxy Note 7 in South Korea by June this year. The company is apparently sitting on up to four million units of the Galaxy Note 7 and it plans to sell 10% of them as refurbished units in its home market.

All of the specifications are reportedly going to be the same as they were on the original Galaxy Note 7 save for the possibility that it might have a 3,000mAh battery instead. This particular model will reportedly be sold as the Galaxy Note 7R.

The report also mentions that Samsung is going to sell it for 700,000 won or $620 which is around $250 less compared to what the Galaxy Note 7 was originally sold for last year. Samsung has previously confirmed that the refurbished Galaxy Note 7 won’t be sold in the United States.
