It has been a little over a month since Pandora unveiled its Pandora Premium music streaming service. It was launched as an invite-only trial initially but the music streaming service has confirmed today that Pandora Premium is now live for all users. Those who want to subscribe to it can now do so without having to wait for an invite.
Pandora Premium will provide subscribers access to all of the features of the internet radio streaming service that they already know and love as well as access to a huge library of songs much like the one you get with the likes of Spotify and Apple Music. Pandora Premium enables Pandora to properly compete against its rivals.
Pandora has also built sophisticated recommendation algorithms for Premium subscribers to ensure that the music they love finds them. The recommendation engine adapts to each user by relying on all of the signals it’s provided, these include thumbs, replays, skips, and station adds. It pulls in this information from the entire time the user has used Pandora.
Pandora says that users will notice the recommendation engine in action as soon as they open Premium for the first time as they will find recommendations tuned to their liking. The $9.99 per month subscription service is live now for all users.
