As far as the major consoles are concerned, the Nintendo Switch is probably the smallest amongst all of them. In fact its size is one of the marketing points where Nintendo touts how you could bring it around with you and game while on the go. However could the Switch get even smaller?According to analysts from Citigroup, they believe that the next step for Nintendo to take is to shrink the Switch down even further, where come 2019 we could even expect a smaller Switch called the Nintendo Switch Mini, at least that’s according to according to analysts including Minami Munakata, Kota Ezawa, and Alicia Yap.
The analysts write, “Although the Nintendo Switch can be used as a handheld device, we think smaller children could struggle to use it comfortably in that format due to its size and weight. Accordingly, we think Nintendo will launch a lighter, dedicated handheld version of the Switch, possibly to be called the Switch Mini.”
So far the Nintendo DS lineup is the only console from Nintendo to have undergone various iterations and revisions over the years. The Wii and Wii U for the most part kept the original design and hardware until the next version, so it would be surprising if Nintendo were to revise the Switch, but in any case do take it with a grain of salt for now, but what do you guys think of the idea of a Switch Mini?
