Moto C Rumored To Replace The Moto E As A Budget Handset

Thanks to recent leaks, we have been hearing rumors that Motorola has yet another budget handset in the works in the form of the Moto C. Now in a post by Evan Blass on VentureBeat, additional details about the handset have been revealed, such as how it could potentially be replacing the Moto E as the company’s budget handset lineup.

According to the report, the Moto C is expected to be Motorola’s most affordable smartphone lineup to date, so where exactly that puts the Moto E family remains to be seen. As to whether or not the Moto E will be killed off remains unclear, but that’s unlikely given that we have been hearing reports of a certain Moto E4 Power.

The report also echoes what we have been hearing so far in terms of specs, but it also revealed that there will be two Moto C variants: the “normal” Moto C and the Moto C Plus. Both handsets are rumored to be powered by MediaTek chipsets with the normal Moto C sporting a 32-bit processor, while the Moto C Plus will use a 64-bit processor.

RAM is expected to vary between both models anywhere between 1GB to 2GB. Battery sizes also appear to be wildly different with the base model sporting a 2,350mAh battery while the Moto C Plus is rumored to pack a 4,000mAh battery. Take it with a grain of salt for now, but hopefully the official details will surface soon.
