Microsoft’s smartphone efforts have diminished somewhat over the years, so what the company has done is include their products and services on platforms like iOS and Android. So like we said, that strategy seems to be applied in a way to wearables with this new agreement with Casio, or at least that seems to be the case based on Microsoft’s announcement.
According to Micky Minhas, head of Microsoft Technology Licensing, “Casio’s smartwatches combined with Microsoft’s technology will help customers all over the world achieve more from their wearables. This is an outstanding partnership that builds on Microsoft’s heritage of innovation in the technology powering personal wearables to boost Casio’s best-in-class products in this space.”
Exactly what this will result in remains to be seen, but maybe we could see Microsoft and Casio collaborate for future wearables, or maybe we could see Microsoft’s services like Cortana or Bing integrated into Casio wearables, who knows?
