Devices like Google Home are great for use in the kitchen. They’re powered by artificial intelligence-backed smart assistants that can help with simple queries like how many teaspoons are in a tablespoon or even provide full recipes for delicious meals. Google Home is now much better at helping out in the kitchen. Google today announced that it has increased the number of recipes available on Google Assistant, which powers Google Home, to more than 5 million.
Google Home users can access this massive library of recipes which coves more than 5 million meals by simply issuing voice commands to the device. Commands like “Ok Google, let’s made pizza” will work perfectly.
Alternatively, users can find these recipes through the Google Search app on iOS and Android. Once they find the one they link, it can easily be sent to Google Home with just one tap. Google Assistant will then automatically start working through the recipe when it hears the voice command “Ok Google, start cooking.”
The assistant will divide the recipe into a number of steps that users can also ask it to repeat or check back on by mentioning the relevant step number in their voice command. It’s not like Google Assistant wasn’t able to provide access to some recipes in the past but this new update is definitely going to make it very useful in the kitchen.
It’s pulling these recipes from the likes of Bon Appetit and Food Network so there’s bound to be something for everyone. This feature will be live on all Google Home devices as well as the Google Assistant app in the coming weeks.
