Now it seems that Google could be attempting at launching another social networking platform in the form of “Google Hire”, which according to a report from Axios seems to be the company’s answer to LinkedIn. From what the report says, this service allows employers to post things like job listings, accept and manage applications, and so on.
Google has since confirmed the existence of the website in a statement to Engadget which reads, “Google Hire is a product under development that will help G Suite customers manage their hiring process more effectively. The product will allow employers to collect candidate applications online. Only information that a candidate voluntarily provides would be passed to a prospective employer as part of their online application. Private information will not be shared.”
It isn’t surprising that Google might be running experiments like that so whether or not Google Hire will eventually become a full-fledged product remains to be seen, and whether it will be able to compete with the likes of LinkedIn, Glassdoor, and Monster is also something that the company needs to consider in terms of differentiating features.
