When Apple’s iPhone 6 and 6 Plus were launched, there was a bit of controversy regarding the durability of the phone where it seemed that it could be easily bent. Users were reporting that their phones were getting bent just by being inside their pockets. From then on, bend tests were a pretty common sight whenever a new phone launched.
That being said, how does the Samsung Galaxy S8 hold up under such duress? It turns out that Samsung has built a pretty solid phone for themselves. In the video above posted by JerryRigEverything, he puts the Galaxy S8 through a bunch of tests that puts the durability of the phone to the test.
In the bend test portion of the video, it seems that when pressure was applied, the phone did not bend or crack quite as easily as other phones we’ve seen. In fact the Galaxy S8 held up pretty well and it might have to do with the fact that the phone has a rear glass panel that could offer up some reinforcement.
The video also shows that the phone is pretty durable when it comes to scratches and while we wouldn’t exactly call it fire-proof, it seemed to function like normal even under two 30-second rounds with a lighter held to its display.
