For those who are unfamiliar, the Active lineup from Samsung is basically a rugged version of their flagship handsets, where it will be more resistant to drops and knocks, and in the past water-resistance was also one of its features, although given that Samsung has started to make water and dust-resistance a default feature, we guess there’s no need for that.
According to SamMobile’s report, the Galaxy S8 Active will have the codename SM-G892A and is codenamed “Cruiser”. It is unclear as to how different in terms of specs the Galaxy S8 Active will be compared to the “regular” versions of the phone, or if it will retain the “Active” key like its predecessors, or if it might replace the “Bixby” button on the phone.
It also appears that for now, the Galaxy S8 Active will remain as an exclusive to AT&T which is pretty standard as we have seen in the past, and it doesn’t look like it will be changing anytime soon. In any case take it with a grain of salt but hopefully we’ll have additional details about the handset soon.
