DJI is shaking up its drone lineup today. It’s offering two new models for customers who are not willing to spend more than $1,500 for a DJI Phantom 4 Pro and aren’t particularly fond of the Mavic Pro which starts at $749. DJI has decided to launch two new “Advanced” entry-level models of the Phantom 4. They’re called the Phantom 4 Advanced and Advanced+.
Those who had been meaning to pick up the base model of the Phantom 4 drone will soon be out of luck as DJI has decided to discontinue that particular model.
The Phantom 4 Advanced’s camera has a 1 inch 20 megapixel image sensor which is larger than what you get with the base Phantom 4 drone. It’s capable of shooting 4K video at 60 frames per second. It can also process 60 FPS H.264 4K video and 30 FPS H.265 4K video at 100 Mbps
DJI Phantom 4 Advanced has five sensors which will aid the drone in obstacle avoidance. The company says that customers will now get a flight time of 30 minutes.
Customers who want to have a display in the drone’s controller can opt for the DJI Phantom 4 Advanced+. Its controller has a 5.5 inch full HD display built in and that’s obviously going to reflect in the cost.
The DJI Phantom 4 Advanced costs $1,349 while the Advanced+ costs $1,649. Both drones will start shipping April 30th when DJI discontinues the current base model of the Phantom 4.
