The official trailer for Call of Duty: WWII was released several days ago, but it seems that the game has already been received more positively compared to its predecessor, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. When Infinite Warfare’s trailer was launched, the amount of dislikes surpassed its likes many times over.
In the case of WWII, it’s a completely different story. At this time of writing it has received 817,694 likes which is already considerably more than Infinite Warfare, which about a year later is sitting at 573,335 likes. Of course it might be too soon to tell if WWII will be better than Infinite Warfare, but at the very least we can tell that gamers are happy to see the franchise return to its roots.
That being said despite its trailer being so negatively received, Infinite Warfare was considered the best-selling game for the year of 2016 based on NPD’s figures. This echoed Activision’s earlier statement where they said the dislikes did not overly concern them and that gamers would love the game upon its release.
So with the number of likes shown to WWII, will it be able to maintain the momentum of Infinite Warfare and top the best-selling game for 2017 as well? What do you guys think? Call of Duty: WWII is currently set for a release on the 3rd of November, and gamers who pre-order the game early will be eligible to take part in a private beta.
