Blizzard Bans World Of Warcraft Players For Monetizing Dungeon Runs

There are certain things that you can and cannot do within World of Warcraft’s economy without violating Blizzard’s terms of service. Apparently it seems that offering up dungeon runs or raid carriers in exchange for real-life money is one of them, as quite a few top World of Warcraft players have unfortunately found out for themselves.

A report from PCGamesN has revealed that quite a few top players in the game have been offering to carry players through various instances that might be harder to complete if you’re not geared properly. However because they are selling these runs for real-life money, Blizzard isn’t too pleased about it.

In a post on the forums, “We’ve recently taken action against a number of accounts that were actively participating in and/or advertising the sale of in-game raid or dungeon clears in exchange for real-world currency. Such behavior is a clear violation of the World of Warcraft Terms of Use.”

It should be noted that offering to carry players through dungeons or raids for achievements, which can lead to unlocking titles, mounts, or getting exclusive loot, isn’t new in World of Warcraft. However we guess Blizzard has decided that enough is enough and that they will no longer be turning a blind eye to those practices.
