In the past month or so, we’ve seen major carriers such as Sprint and T-Mobile release the Android 7.0 Nougat update for the Samsung Galaxy S7/S7 Edge. If you use neither of those carriers and you’re actually signed to Verizon, then you’ll be pleased to learn that Verizon has finally released the Nougat update for the Galaxy S7 handset.

The update should be rolling out as we speak but if you don’t see it yet, not to worry as we expect that in the next few days it should make its way onto your handset. Given that this is a major Android update, you’ll want to make sure that you have enough space on your phone and that you’re connected to WiFi so that you don’t blow through your data cap.

The update is pretty standard and will bring about all the new features and tools that is part of the Android 7.0 Nougat update, so if you’ve used or played around with the update on other devices before, then you should probably know what to expect. According to Verizon’s support page, this will include better battery management, easier multitasking, a new Performance mode, and more.

If these are features that you’ve been waiting for, then do keep an eye out for the notification that will inform you that the update is now ready for download.
