Now if you were worried that for some reason Nintendo might not be bringing the game onto the Switch, you can relax because it will be coming. In an interview held during a Facebook Live event (via Attack of the Fanboy), Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime confirmed that Super Smash Bros. will be making its way onto the Switch,
According to Fils-Aime, “Smash is obviously one of our best-selling franchises, What we say is that the philosophy that Nintendo has from a development standpoint is that for every platform, we want to have at least one (each) of our classic franchises.” However what was not mentioned was when the game would be coming out, but we guess at the very least it has been confirmed.
It is no secret that Nintendo’s first-party titles have the ability to help boost console sales as we have seen in the past when Mario Kart 8 was released for the Wii U, although given how well the Switch has been doing we’re not sure if it really needs that boost.
