So the other day Apple surprised us all with a (Product) RED iPhone 7. Given that Apple has not done a (Product) RED launch with an iPhone before, it did come as a surprise albeit a nice one since the red finish is rather eye-catching. The good news is that if you liked what you saw, then you’ll be pleased to learn that the phone is now available for purchase.
We should point out that this is merely just a new coat of paint and that the innards and features are pretty much the same as every iPhone 7 or 7 Plus model. However the main difference is that part of the proceeds from the sales of the (Product) RED iPhone 7 will be going towards the Global Fund to support HIV/AIDS programs, so you will be doing your part for charity and society, if that’s your kind of thing.
In terms of pricing, it does appear to be more expensive than the regular iPhone 7. The base model is priced starting at $749 versus the regular iPhone 7 simply because there is no 32GB option and it will be only available in 128GB and 256GB configurations. This is the same as the (Product) RED iPhone 7 Plus which starts at $869 for the 128GB model. However if you were planning on getting the 128GB model anyway then we guess there’s no real difference in price.
We’re not sure if this (Product) RED iPhone 7 will be a limited run or if it will be always available, but if you’d rather not take that risk then head on over to Apple’s Online Store to make your purchase. At this time of writing the estimated shipping times on both models are set at 1 day.
