Earlier this year at MWC, Nokia and their partner HMD Global took the wraps off several new Android handsets. However it seems that Nokia and HMD’s assault on the smartphone market is far from over because according to the latest reports, Nokia has at least two more Android smartphones in the works.
In a report from NPU, they have learnt from their sources that there could be at least two mid-ranger Nokia handsets that have yet to make their debut. The report claims that these devices, tentatively known as the Nokia 7 and Nokia 8 (based on the progression and how Nokia has been naming things) will sport metal bodies and could be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 660 chipset.
The report goes on to claim that one of the main differences between both phones would be their displays, in which one model will sport a larger display with a QHD resolution, while the other will pack a smaller display with a 1080p Full HD resolution. Other than that they’re expected to share similar features like Fast Charging, fingerprint scanners, and so on.
Note that this isn’t quite the end of Nokia’s announcements because apart from the Nokia 7 and Nokia 8, there have been recent rumors to suggest that Nokia will be launching two flagship handsets later this year, both of which are rumored to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset, but until that happens, safe to say you should take this with a grain of salt.
