Now that was the UK market, so what about the US market? According to a series of tweets by Nick Wingfield of the New York Times, it seems that the Switch is also doing pretty well in the US. While no specific numbers were mentioned, Wingfield tweeted that in an interview with Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime, it seems that the Switch is the best selling console in the company’s history over a 2-day period.
2. Fri-Sat sales for Nintendo Switch exceeded first 2-day sales in Americas for any system in Nintendo history. Next biggest was Wii.

We’re not saying it is the best selling console, but rather the best-selling console over a 2-day period which would be its launch weekend. The next biggest is apparently the Wii, which many had regarded as a success, so once again it seems like the early numbers are certainly in Nintendo’s favor.
Of course it is still too early to tell how well the Switch will do over the next few years, and whether or not the hype will die down, or if the momentum can be maintained like we have seen with the Sony PS4 and Microsoft Xbox One, so we’ll just have to wait and see.
