This is pretty much the concept behind the rumored interactive content, where viewers could basically choose how they wanted their shows to end. Unfortunately if you were excited about the possibility, you might be disappointed to learn that it is not true, according to a report from the New York Times in Netflix told the publication that they had no plans on changing the format of their shows.
However they did admit that they experimented with the concept but it was designed to be more of a learning tool than anything. Jim Rutenberg writing for the New York Times says, “The company later told me that the experiment was focused on children’s programming, more as a developmental learning tool than as some new twist on the modern media sphere’s rush to give you exactly what you want when you want it.”
That being said while the rumors are shot, it should be noted that this isn’t the first time that interactive content has been floated. Apple had previously expressed their interest, and back in 2015 director Steven Soderbergh expressed his interest in the concept as well (via Polygon).
