LG Pay To Be Officially Launched In Korea In June

Ever since companies like Apple and Samsung announced mobile payment services of their own, we have been hearing rumors that LG could be working on something of their own. However despite all the rumors we haven’t seen anything yet, but that should be changing in the next few months.

In an announcement by LG, the company has confirmed that they will be launching their mobile payments service “LG Pay” in the coming months. Or to be more specific, LG Pay is expected to be launched in Korea come June, which means that there is still a few more months of waiting for those living in Korea, and possibly even longer for those who are hoping to see LG Pay launch worldwide.

Details of the service are still a bit scarce, but it is said to work similar to Samsung Pay. There is also another shortcoming to this service and that is for now, it will only play nicely with the LG G6 which means that there are plenty of LG users out there who probably won’t get to use the service for now.

LG did not mention if the service would eventually expand to other markets, but if they are hoping to compete against the likes of Apple Pay and Samsung Pay, we can only imagine that they will, but if and when that happens is still unclear.
