Note that in the US the prices of Hearthstone’s card packs remain the same, but it seems that in several regions around the world, Blizzard has increased the prices, possibly in response to the fluctuating of the currencies in different parts of the world. In a post on the forums, a Blizzard community manager wrote, “We regularly look at our pricing around the world, and from time to time we make changes such as these to align with local and regional market conditions.”
This move isn’t that surprising as we have seen various companies do the same from time to time, but for some players in some markets, the price increase has gone up by as much as a whopping 30%. This is worse for gamers who have already sunk in a lot of money and are invested in the game where quitting completely would be a huge waste of their time and resources.
A report from last month already suggested that Blizzard’s new approach which would kind of do away with the Adventure-based expansions could end up costing players more, and with this changes in price, it might be even more expensive than ever if you’re not living in the US.
