Google Makes Sharing In Allo Smarter

Google today announced that it has made some improvements to its Allo messaging app. The improvements are focused on making it easier to share GIF and animated emojis with the people you’re talking to. It also makes it easier to call in the Google Assistant for help inside the chat.

Allo users will now find that it’s easier to add GIFs to their conversations. There are times when a GIF speakers louder than words so this feature will certainly be appreciated by many. All you need to do is tap on the smiley icon in the chat bar then swipe left to find the appropriate GIF. Allo can even share randomly selected GIFs on your behalf, just tap on a Smart Reply with the new Lucky icon or type “@lucky” in the chat.

New animated emojis are now present in Allo. To animate your emoji, just touch and hold the send button and then drag it up to animate it. This functionality works on ten emoji right now but will support more down the line.

Google has also made it faster to bring Google Assistant into the conversation. The compose box gets a Google Assistant icon which when tapped will bring the AI-powered smart assistant to help out in more ways than one.

All of these new features are rolling out for Allo on Android today and will be released for iOS soon.
