What this means is that instead of releasing on the 21st of April, the Galaxy S8 might only be released on the 28th of April. It is unclear as to what might be the reason for the delay, but apparently it seems that following the Note 7’s disaster and what some are calling a rushed product to counter Apple’s iPhone 7, it seems that Samsung is proceeding rather cautiously with the Galaxy S8.
However the event that has been planned for the 29th of March in which the Galaxy S8 will be officially announced is still on track, so we guess customers looking to get their hands on the phone will have to wait a little longer than expected. However if the delay is due to additional testing and safety checks, we guess we can’t say we mind.
Just last month Samsung announced that they would be implementing what they are calling an 8-point battery safety check, which is basically a process of ensuring that the phone’s battery is safe from exploding or catching on fire.
