We know that Fossil has been trying to get into the smartwatch game, and they have been pretty aggressive with their releases. However it seems that what we would have considered aggressive in 2016 pales in comparison to what the company plans for 2017, which is that they plan on offering up 300 smartwatch options in 2017 alone.
This is according to a report from Engadget where Fossil made the announcement at Baselworld 2017. Now you might be wondering how on earth does Fossil plan on launching so many smartwatch options? It should be pointed out that it won’t be completely by Fossil themselves, but some of which will be from brands that Fossil makes devices and accessories for, such as Diesel, Emporio Armani, Michael Kors, and so on.
We’re not sure if flooding the market with wearables will be a good idea, but we guess at the very least users out there looking for a smartwatch will have options to choose from. They also won’t be all 100% smartwatches as some of them are expected to be hybrids, which are basically regular watches that offer up some smart and connected features, such as sensors to track steps and so on.
In any case if you’re after a smartwatch, we guess the year of 2017 will have plenty of options for you to choose from.
