Facebook has started to roll out support for desktops which means that as long as you have a webcam, which is pretty much just about everyone these days, you’ll be able to create a live stream from the comfort of your own home. This feature was actually made available to publishers back in January earlier this year, but it looks like it is now rolling out to regular users.
To access this feature, all you’d have to do is go to the section at the top of your News Feed where you’d normally use to post photos or status updates, and you should see the option for “Live Video”. If you don’t see it yet, not to worry as we imagine that the feature is being rolled out gradually so you should be able to get it soon enough.
This feature will also be available in Groups, Events, and Pages, so if you have an event you can queue up a live stream to show off what those who didn’t attend are missing. Given that Twitch has long allowed users to stream from their computers, this is no doubt a nice addition to Facebook Live.
