Back in February we reported that some Pixel and Pixel XL owners were claiming that they were experiencing random Bluetooth disconnections on their phones, where for some reason the Bluetooth connection would drop. It’s not exactly a breaking bug, but we reckon it can be annoying if you’re trying to use it with Bluetooth devices like headphones or speakers.
However the good news is that Google appears to have addressed the problem. If you’re wondering where the patch is, it seems that the fix was made server-side, meaning that you don’t need to do anything on your end, which is a bit strange since earlier posts from Google have suggested that the fix would be rolled out as a patch.
However a post on the forums by Googler Paul, “Orrin’s out of the office for a few days and I’m covering for him, and I just got word that Google has just finished putting a fix in place for this issue on our end — no downloads or updates to your devices or apps are needed.” We did not experience any Bluetooth issues on our end so we can’t say for certainty if this issue has indeed been fixed.
If you do own a Pixel that is experiencing these problems, then perhaps you’ll want to check again to see if the problem has been addressed. Let us know in the comments below!
